Osmo Polyx-Oil 3088 is a clear hardwax-oil finish for interior wood floors and stairs that need added slip resistance. It provides an R9-rated semi-matte surface while retaining the water, stain and wear resistance expected from the Polyx-Oil system.

How to apply
The wood must be clean, dry and properly sanded. Remove old paint, lacquer and other film-forming coatings, then vacuum away all sanding dust. Stir the finish thoroughly; do not thin it.
Apply one thin, even coat in the direction of the grain with a brush or microfiber roller. Spread it well and allow 8–10 hours to dry with good ventilation. Apply the second coat quickly and just as thinly. Do not machine-buff the finish, since that can interfere with the slip-resistant surface.
Cleaning and maintenance
Vacuum or dust-mop regularly and damp-mop with Osmo Wash and Care. Use Maintenance Oil 3098 for occasional refreshing so the maintenance product matches the R9 finish. Recoat worn traffic paths before the finish wears through.
Good to know
R9 indicates tested slip resistance; it does not make a wet or contaminated floor slip-proof. Osmo recommends a different finish system for dark, dense and extractive-rich woods, so test the full system before starting.
